So far we have enjoyed two weeks of our Forest Schools sessions. The children have loved the opportunity to visit the woods and select their own learning. We have had some wonderful ideas that the children have thought of.
Last week, after initially exploring the forest and listening to the rules of the wood (no running and respect the animals homes) they particularly enjoyed making dens, playing on the rope swings, searching for animal tracks and the hammock!
This week we had a visit from some fairies who had left their fairy doors and a note for us saying that they were having their Spring Ball that evening and could we please make some food, drink and decorations for them to enjoy? This was great fun and the highlight was seeing the children making decorations by wrapping the wool around the trees to make zip wires and laser things for the fairies to use! We had forest soup being made and lots of cups of tea as well as some comfy homes for the fairies to sleep in afterwards.
