We had a visit from a hedgehog called Spike to enhance our learning about autumn. During Spike’s visit, we learnt a bit about hibernation, how hedgehogs protect themselves, what they eat, where they live, what nocturnal means and how we can help look after hedgehogs in our gardens. Lots of children said they had never seen a real hedgehog before and loved seeing Spike curl up into a ball and twitching his nose to smell.
